Hi all, this is my first mod, so nothing complicated =)

Anyways, this mod adds some lamp blocks that you can create like this:

Wood Lamp:
:wood: :wood: :wood:
:Glass: :--+: :Glass:
:wood: :wood: :wood:

Stone Lamp:
:cobblestone: :cobblestone: :cobblestone:
:Glass: :--+: :Glass:
:cobblestone: :cobblestone: :cobblestone:

Brick Lamp:
:brick: = Brick (Item, not the block)

:brick: :brick: :brick:
:Glass: :--+: :Glass:
:brick: :brick: :brick:

Nether Lamp:
:VV: = Netherrack

:VV: :VV: :VV:
:Glass: :--+: :Glass:
:VV: :VV: :VV:

Sandstone Lamp:
:sand: = Sandstone
:sand: :sand: :sand:
:Glass: :--+: :Glass:
:sand: :sand: :sand:


Simple, yet effective, these blocks have the light of a jack o'lantern just to say it =)

The textures are from the painterly pack but with some editing by me to blend in with the default minecraft look.

Great idea though!

"The death of torches" is just a lil' joke I came up with, since using this makes torches just a cheap alternative to light up your places, but if you want good looks, use the lamps =)

EDIT: Changed the title since "The Death of Torches!" was quite an unneeded title, the banner's still there if you want to use it =) also, bump :Pig:

Not necessary lamps as in light bulbs, something resembling this but in a wall.

It's impossible as far as I'm concerned, since blocks don't use 3D models, but 2D textures on every side, so, you can't do layers with it, you can however make a texuture of a torch inside glass, but that would look very bad (believe me, I tried).

S***, I missed that, wil fix soon with the overhaul (nether and sandstone lamps FTW), I'm not on my PC right now so don't have the files here, just delete the BlockLanternB and mod_LanternB, these are the ones for the bricks, will also compress to 3 files on the update, so look up for that =)

UPDATE!!
Added nether and sandstone lamps, compressed the mod and fixed the brick lamp bug (thanks RyanTimes).

All the ID's were changed to +1, so the wood lamps (Previously 115) are now 116 and will disappear with the mod update, stone lamps will also turn to wood lamps because of that, sorry for the inconvenience :smile.gif:

Also, added 1 screenshot and a new banner.
